Police officer killed in crash hailed as courageous
PC Alice Mayo, a 29-year-old officer, has been honored with tributes following her death in a fatal collision that occurred in Arclid, Cheshire.
A "professional and courageous" police officer has died in a crash, her force confirmed.

PC Alice Mayo, of Cheshire Police, was killed when the blue Fiat 500 she was driving crashed with a white Land Rover Defender on the A534 Spark Lane in Arclid, near Sandbach, Cheshire, on Saturday.
A 77-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and later released on bail.
Mayo, from Congleton, was based with the Macclesfield team and had served with the force for more than six years, a spokesperson confirmed.
Paying tribute to the 29-year-old, Mayo's family said she meant "so much to so many".
The family noted that her passing will create a significant void, but they also remembered her for bringing joy, laughter, and warmth to those around her.
Despite her short life, she accomplished a great deal, leaving her family with a sense of pride, although they are now grieving her loss.
At the time of her death, Alice had found happiness and was in a positive place, having persevered through challenges and difficulties that she had faced.
Chief Constable Mark Roberts described the event as a "tragic incident" and confirmed that the force is providing support to both her colleagues and family members.
